Act now — even if you've never objected to anything before

15 Sept 2026

(deadline Fri 18 Sept)

Dear Resident,

Two major tower developments next to Granby Village have a consultation deadline just days away. If you've never objected to a planning application before, this is worth two minutes of your time before it closes. And if you've already commented, there's more to add — the Sister Plot H design has changed recently, and new wind and cumulative impact analysis has just been added to the iQ proposal, dismissing the massive impact of the development.

THE APPLICATIONS

  1. iQ — Weston Halls/Pendulum Hotel site, 78 Sackville Street — Ref: 144791/FO/2025

  2. Sister — Plot H, Charles Street car park site — Ref: PLA-2026-000312

WHY IT MATTERS TO YOU

These towers will block direct sunlight to a significant number of Granby Village flats. They'll bring years of construction noise and disruption right next door. And most residents haven't said anything yet — which means the planning committee is currently hearing from a small fraction of the people actually affected. Every comment is logged and counted; a large number of objections carries real weight.

Our independent light consultant has confirmed that a number of homes here would suffer unacceptable loss of light under national guidance — and many more across Granby Village will be affected too.

DEADLINE: Friday 18 September 2026

(Manchester City Council has confirmed it will still accept late comments on Sister Plot H this week, and both applications go to committee on the same date.)

HOW TO COMMENT — 2 MINUTES

  1. Search using one of the reference numbers above

  2. Open the application and click "Comments"

  3. Submit your view — for or against. You don't need to be a planning expert — even one sentence like "I object because of the impact on light and noise to my home" counts.

Attached is a detailed guide on possible objections. Feel free to cut and paste.
